Wire Ground
Do 2 channels off a W 12 / 3 / ground cable is permitted by the code?
I wonder if it will have a 12 / 3 with ground wire and make 2 separate circuits (black wire and the red switch thereby) sharing nuetrals and earth. I live in New York if they differ. The reason I want it now that I'm running separate circuits for my refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and bathroom. I would try save thread to do so if it's legal. Thank you
It seems that Article 210 in the NEC code book 2008 indicates otherwise. 210.4 Multipole Branch Circuits. You must use two-pole switch 20 amps and they share a neutral. (A branch) General circiuts granted by this section shall be allowed as multipolar circuit. A circuit mltiwire is allowed to be considered as multiple circuits. All operators of a multi-circuit industry are from the same distribution box or similar distribution equipment. (B) Disconnect means that each branch circuit must be mulitwire equipped with a means to disconnect all conductors simutaneously unfounded where the branch circuit originates.
