Caulk for sealing painters tape?
Hello,
I've found many excellent posts on here about how to seal painters tape to prevent bleeding. I first tried the clear acrylic approach but at Michaels I only found Gesso and I wasn't sure if that was the correct thing I needed. So instead I decided to go the Painters Caulk route. At True Value, I found actual Painters Caulk that is Brilliant White and dries in a few hours. There's also crystal clear caulk with silicone that says it can be painted but that you have to wait 7-14 days for it to dry first. Do most people use the white caulk? I'm just concerned about it showing. This will be between a glossy white and muted green satin surface. Thanks.
I used good ol' painters caulk when I had to get a perfect line down the center of a bull nose corner with heavy texture and it came out great. Put the tape on use the caulk to fill the voids in the texture and most important when you paint brush or roll from the tape out never go towards the tape edge this wii help to keep a nice sharp line.
